Invitation To Attend

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the Organising Committee I take great pleasure in inviting you to attend the 12th Australasian Menopause Society Congress. One of the main themes of this Congress will be Metabolism and Midlife – focusing on issues of weight changes, nutrition, diabetes and cardiovascular disease risk – issues which affect an increasing proportion of our population particularly at mid life. To complement this theme a range of topics has been selected which focus on the many and varied aspects of women during the menopause transition.

The Congress Scientific Program Committee has developed an outstanding program featuring internationally recognised experts participating in plenary lectures, interactive sessions and panel discussions. The AMS Scientific Meetings are planned three years in advance, building on the topics and experiences of our past successful Annual Scientific Meetings.

The success of this meeting will be due to my organising and scientific committees, particularly A/Prof Rod Baber, Chairman of the Scientific Committee, Viv Wallace, AMS Secretariat, our distinguished speakers, our sponsors, our conference organisers Tour Hosts and not least you for being part of the 2008 Congress. I hope you are stimulated by the science and clinical messages and enjoy the camaraderie and interaction with other AMS members.

The 2008 Melbourne International Arts Festival will be occurring at the same time as the Congress, so take the opportunity to experience some exciting international events whilst in Melbourne.
