Day 1 Arrival Christchurch

Transfer to hotel upon arrival at Christchurch airport. Deluxe accommodation in Christchurch

Day 2 (B, L) Tranzalpine Safari (Adventure Day Tour)

This spectacular Alpine adventure tour includes four methods of travel to view this magnificent area. Your adventure will start with a transfer to Springfield by luxury coach. At Springfield you will stop for a short time to wander around the town before being transferred to the Waimakariri River for a thrilling Jet Boat ride to the Waimak Canyon. A unique Mercedes Benz Unimog 4 x 4 will then take you through the Flock Hill Station, a 35000-acre farm. A sumptuous lunch awaits you at the Flock Hill Lodge, where you will have time to relax and wander around the gardens.

Board your fourth mode of travel, the world famous TranzAlpine™ Train, for your tour back to Christchurch. Sit back and view the landscape from a different perspective or stand in the viewing car for more of that fresh alpine air.

Day 3 (B, L) Christchurch – Mt Cook – Queenstown

Depart Christchurch by coach, crossing the Canterbury Plains before arriving at Lake Tekapo. Visit the Church of the Good Shepherd before continuing on to Mt Cook, stopping for lunch at New Zealand’s highest mountain. Cross the Lindis Pass and continue on to Queenstown.

Day 4 (B, L) Milford Sound

The road to Milford is one of the worlds finest alpine drives. From Queenstown, the road follows Lake Wakatipu and crosses rolling farmlands to Te Anau and winds through dramatic alpine scenery. Milford Sound is the most famous and accessible of Fiordland’s magnificent glacier carved fiords. Cruise Milford Sound and explore the deep blue waters, cascading waterfalls, sheer cliffs, dense rainforest, towering mountains and fascinating wildlife.

Day 5 (B, L, D)

Morning at leisure.

Afternoon activities start with a buffet lunch at the Skyline Restaurant. This place can only be reached by a gondola. The sweeping views of the Peaks and Lake Wakatipu will make this a memorable experience. End the day with a nostalgic evening cruise on the TSS Earnslaw to the Colonel’s Homestead at Walter Peak. Savour high country hospitality and a carvery style buffet in the homestead overlooking picturesque Lake Wakatipu.

Day 6 (B)

This morning you will be transferred to Queenstown airport for your ongoing flight. (airfares at own expense).

Dramatic Red Centre

Called the Heart of the Nation, the ‘Red Centre’ is arid, dramatic, vast, a land of extremes and home of Uluru (Ayers Rock) Australia’s spectacular monolith. Discover other geological wonders such as Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), Kings Canyon, Simpsons Gap and more.

Day 1 (D)

On arrival at Alice Springs airport, transfer to your hotel to freshen up and relax prior to your afternoon town tour. Visit the Royal Flying Doctor Base and the School of the Air. The Overland Telegraph Station will give you an insight into the life in the Australian Outback of yesteryear.

Day 2 (B, L, D)

Travel to Kings Canyon through harsh, yet beautiful desert landscapes. Enter the Watarrka National Park and continue to Kings Canyon.

Day 3 (B, D)

Join the guided rocky climb to the rim of the Canyon for a spectacular sunrise. Alternatively, you may wish to explore the boulder-strewn Canyon floor, an easier, shady walk. Continue to Ayers Rock and enjoy an afternoon tour of the Olgas and the magical sunset over Ayers Rock (Uluru).

Day 4 (B)

An early start this morning will allow you to view Uluru at sunrise. View the many colours of the rock as the sun rises above the horizon. This afternoon transfer to Ayers Rock airport for your flight, which must be booked to depart after 12.30pm (airfares at own expense).

Reef And Rainforest

North of Cairns you’ll discover one of the most beautiful regions of Australia. Here, at the meeting point of an ancient rainforest and the Earth’s largest living coral structure, slow to a unique rhythm found only in Tropical North Queensland.

Day 1 (D)

Transfer to hotel in Palm Cove upon arrival in Cairns. Afternoon at leisure. Welcome dinner at beachside restaurant.

Day 2 (B,L)

Today cruise to the Outer Barrier Reef. The Reef is enormous, extending along 1438 miles of coastline from the most northern point in the Gulf of Papua to the Tropic of Capricorn in the south. This living phenomenon is made up of corals presenting a beautiful picture: the purples, pinks, yellows, whites and reds are intermixed and made more startling by the spectacular shapes of the coral. Shellfish of all kinds cling to the reef while shoals of brightly coloured tropical fish dart through the coral gardens. View this underwater wonderland from the comfort of a pontoon in the Outer Reef. Morning and afternoon teas, and a sumptuous tropical buffet lunch are included.

Day 3 (B,L)

Leave the water’s edge and journey on a 4WD Wilderness Safari into the depths of one of the world’s oldest rainforests, the Daintree Rainforest. Covering almost 17,000 hectares, the Daintree National Park extends along the coast between the Bloomfield and Daintree Rivers. Your naturalist guide will introduce you to many of the rare birds, mammals, insects and amphibians. Cruise along the Daintree River and perhaps see some crocodiles. Lunch will be served at a private site and time is available for a refreshing swim in the upper reaches of the Mossman River.

Day 4 (B)

Following breakfast, transfer from the hotel to Cairns Airport for your departure flight. (airfares at own expense).

Reservations, Bookings And Final Details

Reservations should reach Tour Hosts Destination Management not later than 1 August 2003 and full payment is required at that time. Space on tours will not be reserved without payment. Bookings will be acknowledged and participants advised of final details. If minimum numbers are not achieved, alternative arrangements or a complete refund of the published tour price will be made.

Maximum Numbers

The number of participants on ALL tours is limited and places will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of payment.

Airfares

Domestic airfares are not included in the ground cost of the tour and should be purchased in
your home country in conjunction with your international ticket – you should receive a better fare this way. It is strongly recommended that you travel on the suggested flights to ensure you receive all components of the tour.
Should you encounter difficulties in obtaining flights, please ask your travel agent to contact the Conference Managers.

Travel Insurance

A travel insurance policy purchased in the country of origin covering loss of deposit, airfares, accommodation charges, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property and repatriation expenses is strongly recommended. The insurance should cover loss arising from the passenger’s inability to travel due to any reason whatsoever.
Tour Hosts Destination Management accepts no responsibility for any loss, damages or expenses incurred by a person travelling.

Cancellation Fees

Prior to 1 August 2003 – full refund less A$100.00 administration fee; after this date – no refunds will be applicable

If bookings are received for post tours after 1 August 2003, a late fee of A$100.00 per booking will be applicable.
