AP1: Explore Brisbane’s Art and Culture
Date: Sunday 17 April 2005 1230 – 1630hrs
Cost: A$60 per person
Experience Brisbane’s visual art culture first hand on this relaxed, guided tour of Brisbane’s best galleries. Accompanied by an art expert, this tour will give you the opportunity to view a mixture of indigenous, contemporary and traditional art styles. Search amongst the treasure trove of riches for a souvenir and enjoy afternoon tea in a leafy setting before returning to Brisbane.

OT1:
O’Reilly’s and Mt Tamborine
Date: Available Daily 0830 – 1800hrs
Cost: A$69 per person
Situated in the cool quiet rainforest of the Lamington National Park, O’Reilly’s guesthouse boasts spectacular panoramic views of the Gold Coast and glistening waters of the blue Pacific Ocean. Take a walk through the rainforest canopy on the "Tree Top" boardwalk and breathe in the cool mountain air of the National Park. Stop at Canungra Valley Vineyards for wine tasting and visit Mount Tambourine to explore the unique local arts and crafts shops. Lunch is not available on this tour. Participants are able to purchase lunch on this tour.
OT2:
Fraser Island
Date: Available
Daily 0645 – 2000hrs
Cost: A$169 per person
Journey by 4WD to experience the unspoilt nature of the world’s largest sand island – Fraser Island. This renowned World Heritage Island is a miracle of nature, famous for its ancient rainforests, dramatic coloured dunes, pristine freshwater lakes and a variety of birds and wildlife. Meals are not available on this tour. Participants are able to purchase meals on the tour.
OT3:
Sirromet Winery and Moreton Bay
Date: Available
19 & 21 April 0930 – 1630hrs
Cost: A$92 per person
Visit one of Queensland’s most prestigious wineries where there is an opportunity to sample wine whilst taking in the tranquil surroundings of Mt Cotton. The journey continues onto Moreton Bay, one of the great hidden treasures of Southern Queensland. Enjoy fish and chips on the beach and visit Indigiscapes – Australia's first environmental centre for indigenous plants.
OT4:
Brisbane Sights and River Cruise
Date: Available
Daily 0930 – 1230hrs
Cost: A$62 per person
Discover why Brisbane is referred to as the ‘ River City’ as you cruise past Eagle Street Pier, Kangaroo Point Cliffs and the exclusive Docklands area. Stop at Newstead House where you can take a guided tour of Brisbane’s oldest surviving residence and experience the City’s gracious past (at the participants own expense). Rejoin the coach and tour past the prominent buildings in the City’s CBD and the cultural precinct of South Bank.

These tours have been selected by Tour Hosts Pty Limited for participating Delegates and accompanying persons of the 12 th Australian Tunnelling Conference. All sightseeing tours include the services of a guide, all entry fees and meals where specified. All tours are based on a minimum number of participants. If this number is not reached, alternative places will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of bookings. Where participants cancel their day tour bookings prior to 17 March 2005, payment will be refunded in full. Thereafter, no refund will be made. It is recommended that comfortable shoes and informal dress be worn on all tours.
Privacy
Australia introduced the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 in 2001. The Conference Managers comply with such legislation which is designed to protect the right of the individual to privacy of their information. Information collected in respect of proposed participation in any aspect of the Conference will be only used for the purposes of planning and conduct of the Conference and may also be provided to the organising body or to organisers of future events. It is also usual to produce a 'Delegate List' of attendees at the Conference and to include the individual’s details in such a list. Consent for publication of the individual’s information may be withheld when completing the Registration Form for the Conference. Individuals are also entitled to access the information held by written application to the Conference Managers.
