Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city and one of the most impressive with its beautiful harbours, dormant volcanoes and unique visitor attractions. An afternoon tour is the perfect way to view the city highlights, and to see first hand why Auckland is known as the ‘City of Sails’. The tour will venture past the Harbour Bridge and The American Express Viaduct – location of the last America’s Cup before visiting the main shopping and business district on Queen Street. Travel passed Mount Eden, a dormant volcano whose summit offers panoramic views, the Auckland Domain - the city’s oldest park, the trendy café and shopping areas of Parnell Village, the Michael Savage memorial with its beautiful views of Waitemata Harbour, and the scenic waterfront route of Tamaki Drive.

Unwind by spectacular cascading waterfalls or swim beneath them. Experience the power of the wild and rugged West Coast and feel the black sand beneath your feet as you stroll along some of the most awe-inspiring beaches the world has to offer.

Waiheke Island is a 35 minute ferry ride from Auckland across the beautiful Hauraki Gulf, but it is a million miles away in peace and beauty. The Island has award winning vineyards, olive groves and pastureland with the residential areas consisting of small village settings each with its own character. This tour will take you through some of the villages, as well as enjoy wine tasting at some of the islands most beautiful and famous wineries. Enjoy lunch in at one of the vineyards whilst looking across the Hauraki Gulf back to Auckland.

The America’s Cup is the world’s oldest and most prestigious sporting trophy and ultimate yachting regatta. Usually the domain of billionaires and elite professional yachties, NZL 40 and NZL 41 offer the unique opportunity for everyone to participate sailing on these grand prix racing machines. Passengers become the crew and are encouraged to take the helm, exert energy on the grinders or simply sit back and enjoy the action as we sail down the Auckland Harbour. The trip suits people of all experiences and abilities and is the perfect activity in Auckland, ‘City of Sails’.
› Tours Terms & Conditions
These tours, designed by Tour Hosts Destination Management (license No. 2TA001144), are for participating delegates and accompanying persons of the Australian Statistical Conference / New Zealand Statistical Association Conference.
› Reservations, Bookings & Final Details
Reservations should reach Tour Hosts Destination Management no later than 1 June 2006 and full payment is required at that time. No space on tours will be reserved without payment. Bookings will be acknowledged and participants advised of final details. If minimum numbers are not achieved, alternative arrangements or a complete refund of the published tour price will be made.
› Maximum Numbers
The number of participants on ALL tours is limited and places will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of payment.
› Travel Insurance
A travel insurance policy purchased in the country of origin covering loss of deposit, airfares, accommodation charges, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property and repatriation expenses is strongly recommended. The insurance should cover loss arising from the passenger’s inability to travel due to any reason whatsoever. Tour Hosts Destination Management accepts no responsibility for any loss, damages or expenses incurred by a person travelling.
› Cancellation Fees
Where participants cancel their tour bookings prior to 1 June 2006, payment will be refunded in full. Thereafter, no refund will be made.
