PMAA National Awards Gala Dinner

A highlight of the Conference, the PMAA Gala Dinner will host the announcement of the National Project of the Year and the National Category Winners. A night to remember, the dinner will also offer the opportunity to view the winning state projects and celebrate with peers who have excelled in the Project Management industry.

Enjoy glamorous pre-dinner drinks on the balcony whilst admiring a beautiful sunset view of Sydney city; followed by a premium selection of Australian beverages and a five star, 3 course meal. After the awards, relax and party on the dance floor to finish off this wonderful evening.

A Night at Sydney Opera House
Opera Australia presents “Jenufa”

Janáèek loved his native Czech language, and his music is infused with the rhythms of speech. It’s about as close to realism as opera gets, from the shock of violence, down to the concrete labyrinth of Neil Armfield’s Eastern bloc setting. Opera Australia Chorus and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra. Sung in English with English surtitles.
Duration – two hours and 50 minutes including two 20-minute intervals.

Project Management Institute (PMI), Australian Professional Awards Dinner 2006

This prestigious dinner, in a superb venue overlooking Darling Harbour, will feature the announcement of the winners of the Project Manager of the Year (PMOTY) and Distinguish Contributor Awards (DCA). Tours

These tours have been designed by Tour Hosts Pty Limited for participating delegates and accompanying persons. Only the best aspects of Sydney and its environs have been incorporated to provide value for money for persons whose time is at a premium. All sightseeing tours include the services of a guide, all entry fees and meals where specified. All tours are based on a minimum number of participants. If this number is not reached, alternative places will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of bookings. Where participants cancel their day tour bookings prior to 11 August 2006, payment will be refunded in full. Thereafter, no refund will be made. It is recommended that comfortable shoes and informal dress be worn on all tours.

Introducing Sydney

Explore the vibrancy and style of cosmopolitan Sydney, one of the World’s most beautiful harbour cities. Discover colonial buildings and cobbled lanes in the Rocks, Sydney’s oldest historical precinct. Enjoy views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House from Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, a waterfront seat carved into the rock for the wife of visionary colonial governor, Lachlan Macquarie. Travel through Sydney’s fashionable suburbs, renowned for their elegant homes and harbour vistas on your way to one of Australia’s most famous beaches.

OT1: Coffee Cruise on Sydney Harbour
Cruise available twice daily any day during the Conference

Onboard the Captain Cook vessel, take in all the splendid Harbour attractions including the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Fort Denison. This award-winning cruise also explores the upper reaches of Middle Harbour with its natural parklands, inner harbour beaches, marinas and waterfront homes. Includes morning or afternoon tea. Cruise duration: 2 hours and 20 minutes. Please note you will need to make your own way to No. 6 Jetty at Circular Quay to board the boat.

OT2: Bridgeclimb

Climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge is an exhilarating experience. Rendezvous at the BridgeClimb office for a safety briefing and prepare for your three-hour adventure! Accompanied by an experienced leader your small team will cross the catwalk to the pylon and walk up to the summit of the Bridge’s upper arch - 130 metres above sea level. Harnessed to a static line for the duration of the climb, be treated to spectacular 360-degree views across one of the greatest harbours in the world.

Participants are required to make their own way to the BridgeClimb office. Directions will be provided at the time of booking.

BridgeClimb is available on other dates and at other times through the Conference. Please contact the Conference Managers should you wish to arrange an alternative time.

OT3: Blue Mountains 4WD Adventure

Let us take you off the beaten track on an intimate adventure tour of the Blue Mountains. Experience the magical beauty of the Australian bush, ancient landscapes and native flora and fauna – less than two hours from Sydney. Enjoy lunch in a leafy setting and breathe in the essence of the Australian eucalyptus whilst enjoying panoramic views of the famous Three Sisters. Learn how to throw a boomerang and play the Didgeridoo and get up close to kangaroos, koalas, reptiles and birds at one of Australia’s award winning wildlife parks.

OT4: Australian Wildlife

Walk through a spacious, open koala enclosure and discover why the cuddly koala is one of the most loved and unique native Australian animals. The name is an Aboriginal word meaning “no water” - referring to the koala’s ability to meet its moisture requirements from a diet of gum leaves. Be photographed with a koala (at your own expense) and hand feed the free-roaming kangaroos. Meet other native animals including emus, wallabies, wombats and echidnas – at one of Sydney’s premier wildlife parks.

Day Tour Terms and Conditions

These tours, designed by Tour Hosts Destination Management (license No. 2TA001144), are for participating delegates and accompanying persons of the 3rd International Conference on Project Management (ProMAC2006). All sightseeing tours include informative English speaking commentary, all entry fees and meals where specified. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended for all tours. For any outdoor tours we recommend that participants bring sun protection cream, sunhat and sunglasses. All tours are based on a minimum number of participants. If minimum numbers are not reached, alternative arrangements or a complete refund will be made. Places on all tours are limited and will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of payment. Where participants cancel their day tour bookings prior to 11 August 2006, payment will be refunded in full. Thereafter, no refund will be made.
