Convention Program
A dynamic program is being developed around the theme Climate Change, focusing on the changes and challenges likely to be faced by the industry in the next three to five years. The Program will run for three days with over thirty invited speakers from a pool of international and national speakers who have been selected for their knowledge, experience and ability to present in a captivating manner.
Topics will include:
- Economic Outlook - Review of the current situation; Australia’s position and how it is changing; where are we heading?
- Consumer Concerns and Needs - This session will explore present and likely future consumer concerns and discuss how these are being addressed by industry.
- Environmental Expectations and Challenges- Odour, dust, noise, manure and litter disposal, environmental contaminants, as seen by the community, government and the industry.
- Trade, Biosecurity and Securing the Food Chain- Recent developments on the national and international scene; what it means for the industry; and what may be coming.
- Bird Health, Public Health and Their Interface - Avian influenza; microbial contaminants; food safety issues.
- Climate and Availability of Feed and Water - Impact of climate change on the poultry industries; GM feed issues and their impact on availability
- Animal Welfare - Exploring recent developments for both the egg and the chicken meat sectors, including international and domestic developments in welfare auditing arrangements
- Training & Education - Training needs and opportunities for the poultry industries; educating our consumers.
