On behalf of our Conference Organising Group, I would like to extend to
you a warm
invitation to participate in the 8th Australian Palliative Care Conference
in Sydney,
Australia. The theme of this conference,'New Horizons,' continues
a momentum built up from previous Australian Palliative Care Conferences
fostering the interdisciplinary development of palliative care especially
with regard to quality evidence-based practice. The sub-themes including
'New Understandings of Palliative Care,' 'New
Challenges and New Dilemmas,' 'New Approaches to Service Delivery,' 'New
Clinical Initiatives' and 'New Populations - New Partners' cover much
of the spectrum of palliative care.
Our Scientific Committee has arranged an exciting group of national and international keynote speakers, and a fascinating selection of concurrent papers and workshops. As well as an outstanding scientific program, the 8th Australian Palliative Care Conference will provide an opportunity for health care professionals, academics and volunteers to network with colleagues who are old friends and to make new friends. In addition, Sydney is an exciting city to visit. Interests including theatre and the arts, sport, and eating out are catered for in abundance with attractions such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House just a few minutes walk from the Convention Centre.
