Program Outline

A comprehensive and stimulating Scientific Program has been created to encompass foremost areas of basic and clinical research in myeloma. In addition to the “mainstream” plenary sessions with State of the Art presentations and Roundtable discussions, it is planned to hold concurrent focus session to allow in-depth discussions of selected topics to take place in a true workshop environment.

Call For Abstracts

Authors are invited to submit abstracts on original work on Myeloma and related disorders.

Accepted abstracts will be printed in Haematologica. Due to the change of publication production deadline, the Abstracts Submission deadline has been extended to 1 November 2004.

Step 3: While completing the form, it will be necessary to attach/upload your abstract to your record (in the template format).

Closing Date For Abstract Submission Is 1 November 2004

All fields on the online abstract submission form must be completed. Please print a copy of the abstract submission form for your records prior to clicking the submit button.

Do not resubmit your abstract for any reason other than a notified submission error. If you do not receive a confirmation email with a receipt number that your abstract was successfully uploaded, please contact the Workshop Managers.

Abstracts will be published exactly as they are submitted, there will be no opportunity for amendments.

The Workshop Managers will not be held responsible for abstract submissions not received via the website or for submission errors caused by Internet service outages, hardware or software delays, power outages or unforeseen events.

It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure that the abstract is submitted correctly. After an author has submitted their abstract, they must check their submission which will be converted to a PDF file to ensure the document has been uploaded correctly. Authors are able to check their submission via the online system - please re-enter your record (using your individual access key) to view your abstract.

Faxed or mailed abstracts on diskettes / CD will not be accepted.

General Policies And Requirements For The Submission Of Abstracts

All abstracts must contain original work that has not previously been reported.

The presenting author must submit the abstract.

The presenting author will be required to register and pay for the Workshop to ensure their abstract(s) are included in the final program.

Deadline For Author Registration Is 5 February 2005

All abstracts must be prepared according to the guidelines provided. Incomplete or incorrect submissions will be returned to the author and must be resubmitted immediately in the correct format to be considered for inclusion in the program.

Audio-Visual Equipment

Please note that for all oral presentations only Data Projection (PowerPoint) will be available for use by speakers.

Abstract Format

Abstracts must be submitted using the Microsoft Word template supplied on this website. The abstract must be submitted as a word document.

The Abstract must not exceed the one-page limit. Abstracts exceeding the word limit will be returned for resubmission.

Title

The abstract title should be in Title Case, bold and right and left justified .

Authors

The Authors' names should be typed in the Authors' section, under the abstract title. All authors are to be listed by their initials, followed by last name (e.g. B Smith). Underline the name of the presenting author. The affiliations should be typed under the list of authors' names. Each author should indicate institute, city, state and country. Do not include degrees or professional titles (e.g. Dr, Prof., etc). Authors on several abstracts must ensure that their name and affiliations are consistent between the different submissions.

For example;

If the authors come from more than one affiliation, superscript numbers should be used to indicate the correct affiliation. For example;

Abstract text must be in Times New Roman font, 12pt size, single-spaced and justified. Leave a line between sections but do not indent.

Use standard abbreviations only. Within the body of the abstract, when using abbreviations spell out the name in full at the first mention and follow with the abbreviation in parenthesis. Abbreviations may be used in the title, provided the name in full is outlined in the body of the abstract.

Capitalise the first letter of trade names.

Compliance to the specifications is imperative - any abstract that does not comply with these specifications will not be accepted for review.

Scientific Posters

For those selected to present their abstract in a Poster Session, it is expected that one of the presenting authors be present at their poster during the Poster Session.

Instructions on the preparation of poster displays will be sent to authors upon notification of the abstract's acceptance.
