Entrants wishing to be considered for any of the awards must be members of the Australasian Menopause Society.

Judging will be according to the following criteria:

Jean Hailes Memorial Prize

This prize is presented to the best free communication by a current AMS member giving their first presentation at a national meeting and who is still within 10 years of completing their tertiary degree. The presenter must indicate eligibility for this prize when submitting their abstract. The winner will receive a certificate of honour and $500. Nomination deadline - 15 June 2009.

This award is presented for the best overall free communication or poster by any delegate.  All free communications and posters presented at the Congress will be entered for this award. The winner will receive a certificate of honour and $1000. Nomination deadline - 15 June 2009.

Australasian Menopause Society Scientific Award

This award is presented for the most meritorious contribution to the field of menopause by an Australian or New Zealand investigator.  This is an annual award based on a published/accepted paper in the past 12 months accepted and in press by 30 June 2009.  The paper should be on a specific subject related to menopause or women's mid-life health.

To apply for this award, applicants should forward the Congress Managers a copy of their published/accepted paper and proof of publication/acceptance. A covering letter providing applicant contact details must also be included.

The winner will receive a certificate of honour and $500. Nomination deadline - 30 June 2009.

AMS Travel Grants 2009

The Australasian Menopause Society will be offering four Travel Grants each valued at $500 for the 13th AMS Congress. Preference will be given to abstract presenters. This is an AMS Education & Research Fund initiative. Applications should be submitted to the Congress Managers with supporting evidence of need for a travel grant.

Australasian Menopause Society Award

This award is the most prestigious award offered by the Australasian Menopause Society and recognises a distinguished person in the field of menopause, who has given much of their life to making a significant contribution to this field.  Awarded every two years, the award will be presented at the Congress Dinner (Saturday 19 September) and will include a cheque for $1000 and a trophy of honour.

Members are invited to nominate any member of the Society who is felt to have made such contribution together with a supporting summary of the nominee's achievements in the field of menopause and women's health.
