Scientific program
The Scientific Program for the 55th Session of the ISI includes Invited
Paper Meetings, Contributed
Paper Meetings, Poster Sessions and Tutorials. Short Courses will also
be available.
Invited Paper Meetings
The Invited Paper Meetings have been developed by the Program Committees
of the ISI and its
Sections. An organiser will be selected for each Invited Paper Meeting.
The organiser will determine
the precise nature of the Invited Paper Meeting. The current list of
invited meetings and organsiers
can be found in the provisional
timetable for Invited papers.
Theme Days
The following have been confirmed as Theme Days:
- Environmental Statistics (Wednesday 6th April and Thursday 7th April (part))
- Statistics and Finance (Thursday 7th April (part) and Friday 8th April)
- Genomic Data (Monday 10th April (part) and Tuesday 11th April)
A Theme Day will include three Invited Paper Meetings, and a range
of related Contributed Paper
Meetings (on the same day, or an adjacent day.) Lunchtime events may
also be developed.
Contributed Paper and Poster Meetings
Any person attending the ISI Session may present one contributed paper
as a sole author (and may be
a co-author of another paper). The paper must not have been presented
or published at any conference
or in any publication before the ISI Session.
The Local Program Committee will arrange the Contributed Paper Meetings.
To assist in this, authors
are requested to classify their papers according to the indicative
list of topics shown on the website , however, submissions on other
topics are welcome. The final program will be based on the papers which
are submitted.
Typically, 6 or 7 papers on related topics are presented in a 135-minute
Contributed Paper Meeting
(roughly 22 minutes per paper including questions and discussion).
Poster Sessions are another format
that will be available for contributed papers.
Special Topic Contributed Paper Meetings
The Local Program Committee is keen to encourage Special Topic Contributed
Meetings, which
involve organising a set of papers for a Contributed Paper Meeting
in advance. If you would like to
know more about Special Topic Meetings, and/or are interested in arranging
