The Registration Desk will be located in the Bayside Banquet Hall and will operate as follows:

Message Service

A message system will be in place for delegates. More details on this service will be available in Bulletin III.

Daily Bulletin

An information bulletin will be printed daily and made available for delegates at the Registration Desk and at various points around the Conference Centre.

Lounges And Refreshments

There will be two designated Lounge Areas; the Bayside Room on the Level 1 of Convention Centre North, and the Harbourside Room on Level 2 of Convention Centre North. Light refreshments will be available for purchase in and around the Convention Centre.

Simultaneous Translation

Simultaneous translation from English to French will be provided for major events such as the Opening Ceremony and the General Assembly and other selected meetings in Harbourside Auditorium 2. To help us with planning, please let the Congress Managers know if you require English-French translation.

Photocopying

A photo copying service will be available for use by delegatesin the Bayside Room on level 1.

Media Room

A dedicated Media Room will be located in Harbourside Room 8. All media representatives are required to complete a registration form; please contact Mr Steve Dangaard at steve.dangaard@abs.gov.au for further information.

Speakers’ Preparation Room

The Speakers Preparation Room will be located in the Merino Room on Level 2 of Convention Centre North. Speakers are requested to email their presentations to the Conference Managers by 4 March 2005 . If the presentation file is larger than 3MB please forward a copy on CD Rom by mail.

On arrival at the conference venue speakers are to check in with the technician in the Speakers Preparation Room following registration to ensure presentations have been uploaded correctly. All presenters are also required to copy their presentation to CD and bring it with them to the conference. Computers and printers will be available for use by Speakers in the Speaker Preparation Room.

Internet Area

Computers and printers will be available for use in the Internet Area in the Bayside Banquet Hall on Level 1 of the Convention Centre. The computers will be PCs with MS Windows XP operating systems equipped with Acrobat Reader and MS Internet Explorer. Further information will be available on this website.

Telecommunications

Public telephones are located at various points throughout the Convention Centre. Phone cards can be purchased from various outlets within the Harbourside Shopping Centre, adjacent to the Convention Centre.

Banking

Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) are located at various points throughout the Convention Centre and in the Harbourside Shopping Centre adjacent to the Convention Centre. Bureau de Change facilities are also available at Harbourside Shopping Centre.

First Aid

For first aid assistance please see either your hotel or the Concierge Desk, Level 1 Foyer, Convention Centre North.

Disabled Persons

The Convention Centre is wheelchair / disabled friendly with the following facilities:

  • Lift or ramp access to all levels
  • Disabled toilet facilities on all levels
  • Double access doors into all meeting rooms
  • Automatic door release buttons on some rooms in Convention South
  • Dedicated disabled parking within the carpark

Cloakroom

Cloakroom Services are available at the Concierge Desk, Level 1 Foyer, Convention Centre North.

Parking

Parking is available at the Session venue at the rate of A$ 25 per day.

Childcare Services

Childcare services can be made available at any of the listed hotels. Should you wish to enquire about these services and their associated costs, please contact the ISI 2005 Conference Managers.
