General Information

The 7th World Biomaterials Congress aims to promote worldwide scientific and technical collaboration among scientists, clinicians, manufacturers and all other groups that produce, apply and evaluate biomaterials in a stimulating and thought provoking environment. The Congress will attract in excess of 1400 participants from around the world.

The first Congress was held in Vienna in 1980 with 800 attendees and since then has beenheld every four years. The 2000 Congress was held in Hawaii and was judged to be outstanding scientifically, culturally and socially. The congress was attended by more than 2300 delegates from 40 countries. The Congress has significantly grown over the years and is now a major influence in the direction and scope of research and development on biomaterials throughout the world.

Delegate Profile

The main participants will be from the scientific community, which includes industries in the medical device, dental, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and bioengineering fields; surgeons, physicians, dentists and other clinical personnel concerned with the application of biomaterials. A significant attendance is expected from the sister societies in the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, Korea and China
