Author

Author registrations are for those who have submitted and paid the author submission deposit.

The registration fee entitles delegates to the following:

  • Congress Dinner
  • Morning and Afternoon Teas
  • Satchel

Accompanying Persons

Persons accompanying full registrants who wish to participate in the social program only may register as Accompanying Persons. Registered Accompanying Persons are entitled to:

  • Welcome Reception
  • Exhibition Reception
  • Congress Dinner
  • One inclusive Tour (Aboriginal Heritage and Botanic Gardens)
  • Satchel

Student Member

A student member is defined as a holder of a student identification card from a recognized tertiary or secondary educational institution or international student card, and must be a current student member of one of the IUSBSE Societies (Australia, Canada, China, Europe, Japan, Korea, US). If Students are not studying full time or are not a member of one of these Societies, they must pay the full Non Member fees. Student registrants are entitled to the following:

  • Attendance at all Sessions
  • All official documentation including Congress Week Program, Proceedings on CD Rom and List of Participants
  • Welcome Reception
  • Exhibition Reception
  • Congress Dinner
  • Morning and Afternoon Teas
  • Satchel

Please Note: It is in a students best interest to become a member of one of the societies to be entitled to the discounted student rate. A copy of your student identification card is required when you submit your registration form. Without this copy, the full registration fee will be charged.

Payment of Fees

NOTE: Registrations will not be confirmed until payment in full is received.

Within Australia
Payment may be made by personal cheque or credit card. Mastercard and Visa are the only credit cards accepted at the Congress. Please note all transactions by credit card will appear on your statement as payment to Conference by THPL. Cheques should be made payable to the 7th World Biomaterials Congress.

International

Payments from overseas must be made by credit card or bank cheque in Australian dollars only, drawn on an Australian Bank. Your name and full address should be typed or printed clearly on the back of the cheque. You may not pay your fees by direct transfer.

Acknowledgements

Registrations and payments will be acknowledged in writing by email, which will include confirmation of all requirements according to the completed registration form.
Participants will not receive any further publications or correspondence before the Congress.

Entrance to Congress

Each participant of the Congress will receive a name badge upon arrival at the Congress. The badge will be the participant's official pass and must be worn to obtain entry to sessions, social functions and tours.

Letter of Invitation

On request, the Organising Committee will send a letter of invitation to participate in the Congress. Such an invitation is extended specifically to assist participants in obtaining travel funds or appropriate visas and does not imply any commitment on the part of the Organiser to provide financial support.

This letter will only be issued once the participant has registered for the Congress.

Please complete section J of the registration form to request a letter. A hard copy of the letter will be forwarded via mail.

Registration and Information/Tours Desk

The Registration Desk will be located in the Level 2 Foyer and will be operating as follows:
Monday 17 May 2004 1100 - 1800
Tuesday 18 May 2004 0700 - 1800
Wednesday 19 May 2004 0730 - 1800
Thursday 20 May 2004 0730 - 1800
Friday 21 May 2004 0730 - 1600
A Tours Desk will operate during Congress hours.

Insurance

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that at the time you register for the Congress and book your travel you take out an insurance policy of your choice. The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the Congress, or through cancellation of the Congress, loss of international/domestic air fares through cancellation for any reason, loss of tour monies through cancellation for any reason including airline or related services strikes within Australia, failure to utilise tours or pre booked arrangements due to airline delay, Force Majeure or any other reason, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. The Congress Managers cannot take any responsibility for any participant failing to arrange their own insurance. This insurance is to be purchased in your country of origin.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Registration Fees Before 16 Feb 2004 will incur a A$100.00 cancellation fee.
Before 5 April 2004 will receive a 50% refund of fees paid.
After 5 April 2004 there will be no refund.

Accommodation Deposit is non-refundable at 5 April 2004

Social Non-refundable at 5 April 2004

Tours Full prepayment is non-refundable at 5 April 2004

Post Tours Full prepayment is non-refundable at 5 March 2004

Cancellations must be notified in writing to the Congress Managers.
